Rebekka

I am Rebekka. I came to this town from abroad thirty years ago, and here that still makes me a newcomer for twenty more. By night I send the crew of our little ambulance station out on calls, by day I run my new café and learn the old dialect from my oldest regular. On Sundays I chase the missing line of Ruth's stew. I want one Sunday when Ruth says yes, in dialect.
