I am Peter, dean of a small university that now gives a prize for every possible achievement, because a prize can improve anything. I live with Pauline in the top flat of a crooked house, where she reads tiny fortunes and I check them for accuracy. Together we are writing the memoir of our thirty years, and we disagree about every chapter. I want one prize of my own, and the final word.
