Ruth

I am Ruth. I live on the fifth floor and I climb the stairs myself, thank you. Downstairs I keep the corner kiosk, where everything comes in pairs and nothing is ever split. The stray cat of our building eats on every floor, but not on mine, whatever Reed says. On Sundays my son's partner Rebekka cooks my stew, and I tell her the truth. I want to owe nobody anything.
