I am Florian, a translator from the city who swapped flats for a year with my pen pal's family in a windy northern harbour town. They left me a long list of house rules and a town full of customs, and I follow every one of them far too eagerly. To fit in I took a winter job at the ice cream parlour next door. My big sister Ingrid visits to check on me. I want the town to call me a local.
